The moment the pictures begin to live.
The bright wall with the framed works, the exhibition text in front of it.
On the screen they are files. On the wall they are pictures. That is probably the moment I love most.
Only on the Wall
Today I picked up the finished framed pictures from Anu and I was thrilled. All day long you see them on the screen, print them small to get a first overview: what works, what belongs together. And then they hang on the wall in a plain mat and begin to live. The hard part, the sorting out, is behind you; now they are allowed to show themselves and tell their story.
I Am Leaving Them Here
It is only a small selection, printed and framed especially for Hämeenlinna. I am leaving it here, in the hope that it makes people think, brings joy, or reminds someone of those who are long gone. Because the whole wonder of art only unfolds in looking at it and talking about it. Sometimes two inner worlds meet and begin to glow. That glow in the eyes of the people looking is what moves me again and again.
