You can photograph a building at any time. But it only reveals itself in a certain light. Waiting for it is half the work.

Knowing How to Wait

A building stands still. You might think it does not matter when you press the shutter. The opposite is true. The same building looks different in the morning than in the evening, different on a gray day than under a clear sky. Light decides when it reveals itself.

That is why waiting is not idle time, but work. I walk around a building at different times of day and remember when each wall begins to speak. Only then do I photograph.

The one moment cannot be forced.

The Line Guides the Gaze

Architecture speaks through its lines. An edge cuts, a surface opens, a transition carries the gaze onward. My task is to trace this path in the image without smoothing it out. I do not photograph a building as an object, but as a space you walk through.

Why the Patience Pays Off

A forced image shows it. An image that has waited for its moment feels calm, almost self-evident. That calm is precisely the goal. It does not come from editing, but earlier, from patience.
